Gmail Sync


Finally sync to gmail service is provided free of charge from google.
This service must be utilized by your windows mobile handset owner or owners of other handsets that support activesync.
If previously you had to have a corporate email account to use activesync, with this service you only need a gmail account. And synchronization are supported for calendars, contacts and email.

For yahoo account owner that want to use this service, the first step you need is forward your mail to gmail. If you have a yahoo.com email, you can get this by change your yahoo setting become yahoo asia. And then option for fordwarding will appear.

From your gmail account you can import all existing email in your yahoo inbox to your gmail. You can also change the send from email become from your yahoo address.

After some time trying to sync gmail in my UIQ3 symbian phone, synchronization running well and received all emails realtime. And there is no problem in sending and receiving attachments. Data consumption data also lighter and more stable when compared with using IMAP4.
